All parents believe their child is beautiful, but one Kingston woman has had that thought validated. Her son has been chosen as one of 250 youngsters across Canada to attend the 2007 Canadian Model & Talent Convention in Toronto.
Lydia, originally from Smiths Falls, now resides north of Kingston with her four year old son Declan.
Declan will be in Toronto from May 3 to 6 and will take part in runway competitions, a television commercial competition and more.
National and international agents will be on hand to talk with participants as well. Declan will be armed with his portfolio and mom Lydia is hoping he gets signed with an agency. She would be satisfied if he were chosen to model for the Sears catalogue, flyers or even for Gap ads.
This all started out last year when Lydia picked up and filled out a model and talent search form. A Belleville agency was interested and Declan has since taken modelling and acting courses. The agency they have been working with in Belleville is Mode Elle.
Lydia found out her son was heading to Toronto in November.
“It’s great. I’m excited for him,” she said. “I had always thought he was cute.”
