CMTC Weekend Itinerary

CMTC Contestant Registration will take place on Wednesday May 2nd, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the CMTC Information Booth located in the Donald Cousens Conference Centre Foyer. All fees from Contestants & Convention Attendees must be in paid in full in order to receive their individual registration package, which includes the CMTC Program Book, Awards Banquet Tickets, as well as official convention badges which permit access to the convention site. To ensure that the registration process is efficient, please arrive prepared and organized with copies of your registration paperwork. It is required that everyone attending CMTC wear their official convention badge for all functions throughout the entire convention weekend. Security is very strict therefore anyone not wearing an official convention badge will be prohibited from entering the convention site.

The CMTC Information Booth will be located in the Donald Cousens Conference Centre Foyer in the Hilton Suites Toronto/Markham Conference Centre where CMTC Staff will be available throughout convention weekend to answer any questions or concerns that Contestants or Attendees may have.

On Thursday, the convention will begin with Orientation. Directly following Orientation, we have the first of many seminars / workshops scheduled throughout convention weekend! Also on Thursday, we have scheduled the TV Commercial Competition as well as the Singing Competition Preliminaries. Thursday night, participate in our Theme Party & Dance - CMTC's Hollywood Theme Party & Dance! There are fun contests held throughout the evening which the National & International Agents in attendance judge!

On Friday, the itinerary includes seminars, workshops, competitions such as Monologue, Kids Casting, Runway, Singing Competition Finals, Cold Reading Scene, Swimsuit as well as judging of the Cover and Commercial Print competitions. All of these events, plus seminars and workshops, take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Scheduling of these events is very close and the entire weekend pivots on a tight budget of time. Although it may often appear on the convention itinerary that some workshops, seminars and/or competitions overlap, we have scheduled seminars and workshops based on the number of models & talent participating in each competition. Seminars and workshops will be scheduled simultaneously with some events that do not have the majority of models/talent participating. This will ensure that models/talent will be kept busy at all times throughout convention weekend. Friday night, CMTC presents our second CMTC Theme Party & Dance - CMTC's Annual Be A Fashion Crime Theme Party!

On Saturday, the scheduled events are the Improv, Photography Go-See and Dance competitions. The Awards Banquet Dinner & Ceremony will conclude Saturday's events with a semi-formal Awards Banquet followed by a dance. Outstanding individual convention performances will also be recognized at this time. We will present individual competition winners, the Overall Divisional Winners and the Grand Overall Male & Female Awards will be presented to the two top competitors along with the Grand Overall Children's Award and the Actor of the Year Award. Lastly, we will take time to recognize and present awards to the Modelling Agency of the Year, Talent Agency of the Year as well as the CMTC Grand Overall Agency of the Year.

Callback interviews will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday May 6th. Callback lists will be posted at 8:30 a.m. Callbacks give the opportunity for the Models/Talent and Agents/Scouts to discuss further direction and representation. Throughout the weekend, Agents/Scouts will be evaluating Models/Talent in the various competitions & events and will circle the Contestant's number that they wish to interview at Callbacks (see page located at the back of the Official CMTC Program Book which you will receive upon your arrival at CMTC). Models should bring comp cards, or if the Model does not have comp cards, bring laser copies of their photos containing their stats and measurements clearly printed on the back (i.e. name, height, age, measurements, hair colour, eye colour, dress size/suit size, shoe size, etc...) to give to the Agents/Scouts that are interested in pursuing representation. Talent/Actors should bring headshots and resumes containing their acting experience, training and special skills to give to interested Agents/Scouts. Models & Talent should also be prepared to inform the Agents/Scouts of their availability. Agents/Scouts suggest that Models wear little to no make-up during callbacks, flat shoes and fitted clothing. Some Agents/Scouts may measure, videotape or take snapshots of the Models/Talent that they interview and may have them complete their agency's stat sheet.
